THE BEAR Actress Liza Colón-Zayas Gives First Tease About Her SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Character
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has done a good job of keeping both character and story details under wraps, including the identities of characters played by two Marvel newcomers Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear).
While most of the speculation has been around Sink’s supposed part, Colón-Zayas as given us a tease about the role she’s taken on.
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, which you can check out below, Colón-Zayas praised her Spider-Man co-stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, who play Peter Parker and MJ, then teased her own character, stating, "I could just say...I play a detective. It's a darker, deeper 'Spider-Man.'"
Could this mean she will play Jean DeWolff? The tough, unrelenting NYPD Captain and a dedicated Spider-Man ally? It’s a possibility, but as always, we will just have to wait and see.
Luckily, the wait isn’t too long at this point. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theatres on July 30, 2026.
