THE BIG BANG THEORY Actress Melissa Rauch to Star in NIGHT COURT Revival With Original Series Star John Larroquette
Melissa Rauch of The Big Bang Theory fame, is set to star in and executive produce the upcoming follow up to the hit 1980s comedy series Night Court, alongside original series star and Emmy-winner John Larroquette. Rauch has been on board to EP the project since its early development, but just recently read the script, prompting her to come aboard to star.
The series is being written by Dan Rubin (Happy Endings, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) based on the original series created by Reinhold Weege. The updated multi-camera series will center on the unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Rauch), daughter of the late Harry Stone (played by the late, great Harry Anderson), who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (Larroquette).
I watched the original Night Court as a kid, and I am looking forward to this new take on it. Rauch is a great comedic actress, and I think she will be great in the role.
