THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Director Robert Rodriguez Makes a Cameo in The First Episode
Robert Rodriguez directed the first episode of Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett and early on in the episode he made a cameo. Chances are you didn’t even know you saw him because he shows up as an alien character.
Rodriguez is credited as playing Dokk Strassi, he’s the Trandoshan who comes to Boba Fett and presents him with a Wookie pelt as tribute. It makes sense that he wants to make a cameo, who wouldn’t!? It’s Star Wars! Lots of big actors and directors have made cameos in Star Wars projects over the years.
You can check out a photo of Dokk Strassi and that Wookie pelt he carries below:
Rodriguez previously talked about wanting to satisfy fans with this series, saying, "Boba was my favorite, so I was really excited I got to do that and just do him. I want to give him a showcase, because I was 12 when Empire Strikes Back came out and they were talking Boba Fett before the movie came out. The marketing was really pushing him, so you really thought he was gonna have a huge role in it, so I really wanted to satisfy that need for more Boba in this."
I thought the first episode was great, so Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and the team are off to a solid start! I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story plays out!
The Book of Boba Fett is a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credits sequence following the Season 2 finale of "The Mandalorian" that finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy's underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
The Book of Boba Fett stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are the executive producers.
