THE BOY AND THE BEAST Returns to Theaters for One Day Only

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment want to give anime film fans a treat. For one day only, on August 18, fans will be able to watch Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and The Beast in select theaters in the United States.

It will be the subtitled version (Japanese audio, English subtitles) and it sounds like fun. I missed it when the film originally debuted in 2015/2016, but the trailer looks quite good.

A must-watch film from the acclaimed creator of Summer Wars, Wolf Children, Belle, and the upcoming film Scarlet, Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and The Beast follows Kyuta, a young orphan living on the streets of Shibuya, who stumbles into a fantastic world of beasts, and taken in by Kumatetsu, a gruff, rough-around-the-edges warrior beast who’s been searching for the perfect apprentice.

Did you catch The Boy and The Beast the first time it came to theaters or will you be crossing it off your backlog this August? Tickets are on sale now via Fandango.
