THE BOYS Final Season Wraps Production as Eric Kripke Calls It “The Best Professional Experience of My Life”
After years of chaos, gore, and unapologetic superhero satire, The Boys has wrapped production for good. Creator Eric Kripke confirmed that the final episode of Season 5 is completely finished, marking the end of one of the wildest rides in modern TV.
Kripke shared the update on social media, and you can feel the weight of it all hitting him in real time as the work finally comes to a close:
"The last color tweaks on the last VFX shots of the last episode of The Boys. Now 100% done. It never truly hit me that it's over, cause there was always something to work on. Until today. This was the best professional experience of my life. I hope you like it. April 8."
Season 4 left things in a seriously intense place, with Homelander essentially seizing control of the United States through a puppet government.
It pushed the story to a point where going bigger almost feels impossible, but if early teases are anything to go by, Season 5 isn’t scaling back.
If anything, Homelander’s ambitions are about to get even more unhinged, with hints pointing toward him chasing something close to immortality.
While plenty of hit shows stretch things out as long as possible, that was never the game here. He made it clear from early on that five seasons was the target, and he stuck to it even when there was interest in keeping the series alive.
"I kept saying to Amazon, 'This is going to be five'," Kripke previously stated. "They let me finish season four, and it ends with the world exploding, right? There’s really nowhere else to go except the finale.
Some of the senior executives were like, 'Wait, do you really want to end it with season five?' I’m like, 'I wasn’t joking. And respectfully, you have no choice,' I mean, you cannot go back to the status quo after Homelander takes over the United States. So they're letting me end it on our terms."
After everything that’s happened, trying to reset the world would feel wrong. The story has been building toward this collapse from the start, and now it gets to finish without compromise.
Fans don’t have long to wait either. The final season of The Boys premieres on Prime Video on April 8, bringing this brutal, hilarious, and often shocking series to its end.
Whatever happens next, one thing we know for sure is that The Boys isn’t going out quietly.
