THE BOYS PRESENTS: DIABOLICAL Creative Team Were Never Told They Were Going Too Far

Amazon’s upcoming The Boys Presents: Diabolical animated series is going to be absolutely insane and if you’ve watched the trailer you know it’s going to be filled with insanity, ultra-violence with lots of blood, vulgarity, and stuff that some people might find offensive, because that’s what this franchise does.

If you’re familiar with The Boys franchise, then you know exactly what you’re going to get from this series. But, in case you were wondering if Amazon ever stepped in to tell the creative team that they were going too far in some cases, the answer to that is no.

In a recent interview with /Film, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were asked about pushing the craziness of the series and where they draw the line, Goldberg explained:

"We have sensibilities to some degree. Somewhere within us lies a limit that we do not cross. And that is the line that we abide by. But I think in general, we like to do things that we find exciting and interesting. And, and often that involves seeing what people's limits for certain things are."

When asked if they were ever told by Amazon executives that they’ve gone too far with anything, Rogen went on to say:

"I don't think so. That hasn't happened. There's been some conversations where maybe they want to understand exactly how something's going to be executed, but we've never just been told that we can't do something we want to do."

It’s pretty cool that Amazon has given these guys the creative freedom to do what they want with these shows. Fans seem to be enjoying it with The Boys, and I’m sure that audiences will appreciate it in The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

The series will consist of eight “fun-size episodes, running 12-14 minutes and each with its own animation style.” You’ll see all of the different animation styles in this trailer.

The impressive voice cast for the series includes Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Don Cheadle, Chace Crawford, Kieran Culkin, Giancarlo Esposito, Eliot Glazer, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanjiani, Justin Roiland, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Ben Schwartz, Elisabeth Shue, Kevin Smith, Antony Starr, Nasim Pedrad, Simon Pegg, Kenan Thompson, Aisha Tyler and Youn Yuh Jung. Then, of course, there’s Christian Slater, who narrates the new teaser.

"The Boys Presents: Diabolical" premieres on Prime Video on March 4, 2022.
