THE BOYS Showrunner Eric Kripke Teases Fans Are in for a “Treat” With the Series Finale

Fans of The Boys are getting closer to the end of the road, and according to creator Eric Kripke, the final episode is going to hit hard in more ways than one.

Kripke recently attended a test screening for the series finale’s special theatrical 4DX presentation and shared his reaction on Instagram. Along with a photo from the screening room, he hyped up the experience with the kind of enthusiasm you’d expect from someone who just watched absolute chaos unfold on a giant screen.

He wrote: “Testing the @4dxusa screening of @theboystv finale with the @primevideo gang. Holy f*ck. A literal ride. Those who scored tickets are in for a treat. Thanks for a moment I'll never forget.”

That’s a pretty great tease for what’s shaping up to be one hell of a conclusion for Prime Video’s brutal superhero satire.

The finale episode of The Boys Season 5 is getting an early theatrical event across the U.S. before it lands on Prime Video. Fans attending the screening will experience the episode in full 4DX, complete with motion seats and immersive effects designed to make the insanity feel even more intense.

The episode reportedly clocks in at one hour and five minutes, which gives the creative team plenty of room to send this story off properly.

Amazon still hasn’t released an official trailer or synopsis for the finale, but the setup from Episode 7 already points toward an explosive showdown.

That episode saw the Boys successfully transform Kimiko into something much more dangerous after exposing her to uranium, giving her abilities similar to Soldier Boy. With Homelander becoming even more unstable and murderous, the team clearly needed a weapon powerful enough to finally stand against him.

Kimiko also has some deeply personal reasons to go after him after Homelander brutally killed Frenchie. If there was ever a moment for her to fully unleash chaos, this feels like it.

The finale will also mark the end of the line for many of these characters. With Gen V now canceled as well, this really does feel like the closing chapter of the current era of The Boys universe.

That said, the franchise itself isn’t disappearing anytime soon. Prime Video is still moving ahead with the prequel series Vought Rising, and there’s also the long-rumored The Boys Mexico spin-off still floating around in development.

But before any of that happens, fans still have one final ride left with Butcher, Homelander, Kimiko, Hughie, and the rest of the blood-soaked madness that turned The Boys into one of the wildest superhero shows ever made.
