THE BOYS Spinoff Series GEN V Moving Forward with Development on Season 2
It looks like The Boys spinoff series Gen V is getting a Season 2 as work on it has already started. According to Deadline, Amazon is "happy" with the first season and a “writing room is starting soon in anticipation of a Season 2 pickup. It will be led by executive producer Michele Fazekas,” who will serve as sole showrunner on the series.
A trailer for Gen V was released about a month ago and fans of The Boys franchise seemed to love what the show is going to deliver! It’s definitely not going to hold back on the action, blood, and gore.
The project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The Boys comic book series. “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Bones), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop), Marco Pigossi (Invisible City), and Clancy Brown.
The show is set to premiere on Prime Video in 2023.
