THE BURBS Series Adds Haley Joel Osment, RJ Cyler, Justin Kirk to Cast

Peacock’s series adaptation of The ‘Burbs has added six new members to the cast including Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), and Justin Kirk (Angels in America).

The other new cast members include Kyrie McAlpin (Will Trent), Danielle Kennedy (Man on the Inside) and Randy Oglesby (For All Mankind).

They join the previously cast Keke Palmer, Jack Whitehall, Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch and Kapil Talwalkar.

The ‘Burbs is a mystery comedy based on the 1989 film of the same name. The series is set in the present day and “follows a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home.

“Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.”

The series is written by Celeste Hughey and Rachel Shukert, who serve as executive producers alongside Palmer; Nzingha Stewart, who will direct the first episode; Brian Grazer, who produced the film, plus Seth MacFarlane.

The series will be shot at the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles, where the film was also shot.
