The CALL OF DUTY Movie Is No Longer a Priority for Activision
It has been a while since we last heard about the Call of Duty film from director Stefano Stollima. Now, according to badtaste.it, Stollima has confirmed that the movie is on hold. According to the report, a film is no longer a priority for Activision:
“Well, the Call of Duty film has remained a bit like this ... We wrote the script with Scott Silver, which is what Joker wrote, and let’s say that the idea of expanding the universe, the world of Call of Duty, is cinematographic it is no longer (at the moment) an industrial priority of the group, of Activision ... So, trivially, it has stood still, which happens quite frequently there in America. He remained in the limbo of “now let’s see” ...”
Honestly, I was struggling to think of what would even make a good Call of Duty film as opposed to a generic war film. The games aren’t really known for their riveting stories, but rather their multiplayer modes. That being said, Scott Silver, the writer for Joker, did write the script, so there may have been something after all.
What would you like to see from a Call of Duty film if it ever becomes a priority again?
