The Cast For a New Horror Western Film Titled ORGAN TRAIL Has Been Announced
Paramount Pictures is producing a western horror-thriller Organ Trail, the title of which is obviously a play on Oregan Trail. It was announced that the cast includes Olivia Applegate (Love and Death), Clé Bennett (The Man in the High Castle), Zoé De Grand Maison (Riverdale), Nicholas Logan (Dopesick), Sam Trammell (True Blood) and Jessica Frances Dukes (Ozark).
The story follows “a young Abigale Archer friendless and alone in a brutal Montana winter during the 1870s—fighting for survival and to retrieve her one earthly possession, her family’s horse, from a gang of bloodthirsty bandits.”
The script for the film was written by Meg Turner and the film will be directed by Michael Patrick Jann. Jann is a writer, director and producer who has worked on projects such as Reno 911!, Flight of the Conchords and Little Britain for HBO. He also worked on shows such as Wayne for Amazon and Daybreak for Netflix and the cult-classic beauty mockumentary Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Organ Trail could actually make for a solid horror movie! We don’t see a lot of horror westerns, but when they get made, I enjoy watching them.
