The Cast of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Released a Statement in Full Support of James Gunn

The main cast of Guardians of the Galaxy has issued a statement in full support of director James Gunn was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after a bunch of offensive tweets from nine years ago resurfaced after some right-wing guy was looking to ruin his career.

It's been about a week since Gunn was fired and there's been no word from Disney since. But, there has been a ton of support from the fans, because people are allowed to change and better themselves. Just because a person has a sketchy past doesn't mean they can't become better people down the road. By firing Gunn, Disney is sending the wrong message.

Now the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy has come together offering the following statement that was shared by Zoe Saldana. This is all in hopes that the studio will rehire Gunn to continue the story that he started.

The statement is signed by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker, and Karen Gillan. See the full statement below.

The fact that Gunn was fired so fast leads me to think that maybe there was more to the firing than meets the eye. It happened so fast that it seemed like someone was just waiting for the opportunity to fire Gunn and this gave them the excuse. Maybe there's something more going on behind-the-scenes that we don't know about maybe some kind of company politics agenda that someone has. I have no idea, there's just something fishy about the whole thing and I'm now letting the conspiracy theories start to take over my mind.

Gunn was not only developing Guardians Vol. 3, he was also in the process of developing Marvel's overall story arc for their Phase 4 plans with Kevin Feige. I hope that Disney ends up bringing him back on board. If they don't, my theory of someone at the studio wanting him out will grow even stronger.

What are your thoughts on the statement that the Guardians cast released? Do you think there's more to Gunn's firing than just the old tweets?
