Watch the Cast of THE GOONIES Reunite Again to Raise Over $100,000 for No Kid Hungry
The movie The Goonies is an ‘80s classic that is beloved by generations of fans. Back in April when the pandemic lockdown had just begun and virtual reunions of all kinds were gracing the internet, actor Josh Gad’s web series Reunited Apart brought together the cast of the film, and it was incredibly fun to watch.
The cast has now reunited once more, again virtually, this past weekend to benefit the cause No Kid Hungry. The reunion included a live script reading as well as a Q&A, and it ended up raising over $100,000 for the foundation.
Tom Nelson, CEO of Share Our Strength, the organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign, said of the fundraiser:
“With more students learning virtually than ever before and with record jobs and wages lost, an unprecedented number of kids are going hungry during this crisis. Amidst this increased need and an uncertain school year, kids need our support more than ever. We’re grateful to the cast of The Goonies, Warner Bros., and Warner Media and those tuning in to the reunion special to help ensure kids have access to the food they need.”
