The Classic 1989 Film TROOP BEVERLY HILLS Is Getting a Sequel
Troop Beverly Hills was a hilarious and fun 1989 film starring Shelley Long as a pampered Los Angeles housewife who roughs it as Wilderness Girls scout to bond with her daughter. It’s a classic premise that can be funny in any era, and it is getting an updated sequel.
Director Oran Zegman, who has directed several short films, is taking on the film in her feature debut. Aeysha Carr is writing the script for the sequel, taking notes from the original film, which was “based on the life of Ava Fries, who served as producer and will return to the sequel as executive producer with Charles W. Fries.”
This will be a fun movie to remake for modern times, and I think people will enjoy seeing it followed up. There’s no word on if we will see Long returning to the sequel, but it would be fun to at least see her in a cameo. Are you a fan of the original? Are you looking forward to this sequel?
