The Classic 80s Film LICENSE TO DRIVE is Getting The Remake Treatment

The classic 1988 film License to Drive with Corey Haim and Cory Feldman is the latest film from the 80s that will be going through the remake machine. I loved that movie when I was a kid! I was majorly crushing on Heather Graham in the movie.

According to Deadline, the new film will have female leads and they described as being a female version of Superbad. If you've never seen the original movie before, the story follows a teen boy, who decides to sneak out one night with his grandfather’s prized 1972 Cadillac Sedan de Ville for a night out on the town with his friends... despite flunking his driver's test. They end up embarking on one crazy adventure that ends in the destruction of the car.

The film is set up at 20th Century Fox and is being produced by the producer of the original film John Davis (Predator, The Jungle Cruise), who hired Scott Miles (Girl Problems) to develop it.

It's a fun raunchy coming-of-age teenage comedy and it's a story that can easily work for a modern audience. Will it be as good as the original? Only time will tell. What do you think about License to Drive getting the remake treatment?
