THE CONJURING 3 is Coming, But Without James Wan as Director
The Conjuring 3 is now in the works at Warner Bros. but writer-producer-director James Wan probably won't direct this time around. He directed the first and second Conjuring films and it would be weird to see him not come back for the third.
Deadline reports that Wan is expected to serve as a producer on the film through his Atomic Monster production company. David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote The Conjuring 2, will pen the third installment. Johnson also worked with Wan on a rewrite of the DC universe superhero film Aquaman, which stars Jason Mamoa.
The story of the third installment is still under wraps but will probably be based on another real-life case file of paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
The Conjuring 3 will be the seventh film in the Conjuring universe that includes the previously released Annabelle and the upcoming movie Annabelle: Creation. We also have The Nun and The Crooked Man, which are currently in development.
I do enjoy The Conjuring movies, they are so creepy and always offer up great scares. But how do you guys feel about the movies being passed on to a different director?
