The Creator of Disney's GARGOYLES Campaigns To Bring The Series Back

The creator of Disney’s Gargoyles, Greg Weisman, has started a campaign on Twitter to bring the series back for a revival! Gargoyles is one of the greatest cartoons to come out of the 90s. It has a huge following and now that the series is streaming on Disney+, people are binging the hell out of it!

Weisman explains in his Tweet that Young Justice was revived thanks to the fandom, and he thinks that the power of the fans can also bring Gargoyles back! Check out the Tweet:

If you’ve never seen Gargoyles, now is your chance to experience the awesomeness of the show! With all of the live-action remakes that Disney has been producing, fans have been wondering why the studio hasn’t pulled the trigger on a Gargoyles film. Now with Disney+ in place, it’s not too far fetched to think that we could get a new Gargoyles series! I would love to see it brought to life again within the form of a live-action/CGI project. I’d be happy with a film or TV series!

If fans continue the watch the series on Disney+, the studio will see there is a market for it. That could lead to them bringing the property in some way.

Director Jordan Peele (Get Out, US) has expressed interest in the property, and I’d love to see him take it on. I have no doubt that a Gargoyles film under his direction while using the CGI motion capture technology that Jon Favreau has used with The Jungle Book and The Lion King, could turn out incredible. Hell, if Peele doesn’t do it, I’d love to see Favreau do it!

Hopefully, one day Disney will finally see the light and push a new Gargoyles project forward.
