The Creator of JOHN WICK is Set to Remake The South Korean Action Film THE MAN FROM NOWHERE

South Korea makes a lot of incredible films that tell fantastic and thrilling stories. Hollywood has enjoyed remaking some of these films over the years, and now another one is ready to get the Americanized treatment.

John Wick creator Derek Kolstad is set to remake the 2010 South Korean action film The Man From Nowhere for New Line Cinema.

The Man From Nowhere was a very successful film in South Korea and the story for it centers around “a quiet pawnshop keeper with a violent past who takes on a drug-and-organ trafficking ring in hope of saving the child who is his only friend.”

This is definitely the kind of film where Kolstad’s talent for writing action films will be used to its fullest extent. He most recently wrote John Wick: Chapter 3.

This is the second South Korean film that New Line picked up recently. They are also remaking Sang-ho Yeon’s zombie train film Train to Busan, which Gary Dauberman is writing and James Wan is producing.

I included the trailer for the original film below for you to watch if you want a better idea of what the film entails:
