The Crew of STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Seem To Be Using Old School Phones on Set To Prevent Leaks
Lucasfilm has always tried to go to great lengths to keep their Star Wars movie secrets under wraps. With director J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode IX, it looks like they are taking that secrecy to a whole new level.
Victoria Mahoney, who serves as the second unit director on the film, shared the photo of an old school cell phone on Twitter with the caption, "#OldSchool ~ #Crew ~ #IX." Her comments offer any reasons on why she is rocking the old cell phone, but with the hashtag's "Crew" and "IX" one can assume that these are the phones the crew are using on the set of the film to help avoid any possible leaks. These phones can't take photos.
What other reason why would they be using old-school cell phones like this? Smart move if you ask me! Stuff will still leak out, though. Life will find a way.
