THE CROW Remake is Dead Again As Jason Momoa and Director Corin Hardy Drop Out

The Crow remake has had a long hard road to production. This film has been trying to get made for years! Now, once again, the project is dead for the time being. According to Deadline, Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and director Corin Hardy (The Hallow, The Nun) "formally withdrew from the film this morning."

The report says that the reason they left the project was because of creative and financial differences with Samuel Hadida, "whose Davis Films holds the underlying rights and who was financing the film."

The Crow has been in full-on pre-production and was gearing up to start shooting in Budapest within the next five weeks. That's obviously not going to happen at this point. The report also says:

Sony Pictures announced last September that it had picked up the film for worldwide distribution, and announced an October 11, 2019 release date. Insiders said that deal hasn’t closed. My sources said Hadida’s inability to close a deal with Sony left the studio in exit mode, and that directly precipitated the exits of the filmmaker and star.

Sounds like this Samuel Hadida guy isn't easy to work with. Maybe this is the final straw and the studio will finally give up on trying to make this thing.
