The CW Has Ordered a Second Pilot For THE LOST BOYS Series Adaptation
About a year ago, we got the news that The CW had ordered a pilot for the series remake of the 1987 cult classic, The Lost Boys. That series released plot details and hired a few cast members, but ended up dead after The CW decided to pass after all. But as it turns out, the network has had a change of heart, and have placed a new pilot order for the series.
This will be a total overhaul, as they are reworking the series from a new angle. Variety reports the following details about the new series:
In the new version, when a mother and her Gen Z sons move to the seaside town where she grew up, they discover there’s a sinister reason the local cool kids sleep all day, party all night, never grow up and never get old. Family bonds are tested as the brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a mythological struggle.
There are no returning cast members, so the series is a blank slate for now. I was never that keen on the remake series. I’m a fan of the movie, and I think it’s the kind of thing that would just be too cheesy if remade. But maybe there is a young market for it that will enjoy it as much as I liked the movie. Would you be down for this remake?
