The CW President Explains Why The Network Passed On SUPERNATURAL Spinoff WAYWARD SISTERS

The CW brought a lot of new shows to its fall lineup this season, but the anticipated Supernatural spin-off Wayward Sisters was not one of them. The CW's president Mark Pedowitz was asked why the spin-off didn't make the cut for this fall season and said (via Deadline) they just weren't feeling great about the series compared to other shows:

“We had really great material this year. We’re really excited about the five series we did pick up. We are big fans of the characters and the women who played the characters in the series, but we did not feel creatively the show is where we wanted it to be. We felt we had a better shot with Legacies.”

Legacies is the spin-off to another long-running series on the network The Vampire Diaries and the second spin-off to come from the show. I guess if there was one show capable of staving off a Supernatural spin-off, that would be the one. The CW is also premiering its Charmed reboot in the fall, so their paranormal lineup for this fall is almost at a maximum. Sorry Supernatural fans, maybe next year? Are you disappointed nothing is coming from that backdoor pilot at this time?
