The CW Set to Adapt Ghost Hunter Drama Based on THE ARCHIVED Book Series

The CW has hired the team that brought us Jane the Virgin to create a new series based on the V.E. Schwab book series The Archived. The duo that created Jane the Virgin consists of writer Liz Sczudlo and creator and showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, who is on board to executive produce. Variety reports the following description for the series:

In the series, the eldest child in a family of ghost hunters, Bex has trained her entire life for the day she’ll take up the mantle of “the chosen one.” But when her dad dies and her local-weather-girl sister wakes up with the familial powers instead, these night-and-day sisters will have to figure out how to work together and save the world.

The series will be based on the two-book series, entitled The Archived and The Unbound, plus the short story, Leave the Window Open. The series will help to bolster viewership after the finale of the network’s hit series Jane the Virgin and Supernatural coming to a close this season. Is this a series you might get into?
