The DANDADAN Season 2 Trailer Is Here and It Looks Absolutely Wild
If you thought Dandadan Season 1 was a blast, buckle up because Season 2 looks like it’s about to crank things up even higher. 2024’s biggest anime sensation, based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit manga, is back this summer, and the first full trailer just dropped, along with a confirmed release date.
To a lot of casual anime fans, Dandadan kind of exploded out of nowhere last fall and instantly became the show everyone was talking about. It blended paranormal chaos, sci-fi insanity, and heartfelt character moments into something that felt fresh and completely unpredictable.
Now, Season 2 is aiming to capture that same energy when it launches on Netflix and Crunchyroll on July 3, and if the trailer’s any indication, it’s going to be another massive hit.
The new footage takes us straight into the next big story arc with Okarun and Jiji heading into Jiji’s creepy, haunted childhood home, the one that’s harboring the monstrous Evil Eye.
Meanwhile, Momo’s still trapped by those unsettling hot spring aliens, picking up right where Season 1’s finale left off. The coolest part? We finally get a first look at Jiji unleashing his Evil Eye powers, something manga readers have been waiting forever to see animated.
Animation studio Science SARU, who absolutely crushed it last season, is back at the helm. This time around, Fuga Yamashro is co-directing alongside Abel Gongora, with Hiroshi Seko returning for series composition and Kensuke Ushio handling the music.
The official series synopsis still perfectly sums up what makes Dandadan such a wild ride:
"When high schooler Momo, from a family of spirit mediums, first meets her classmate Okarun, an occult geek, they argue—Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. When it turns out both phenomena are real, Momo awakens a hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse. Together, they must challenge the paranormal forces threatening their world."
And for the die-hard fans who can’t wait until July? There’s more good news. Just like they did for Season 1, the first three episodes of Dandadan Season 2 are getting bundled into a feature-length movie called Dandadan: Evil Eye.
It premieres this May in Japan, with U.S. and European theatrical releases expected in early June. Exact dates are still TBA, but it’s coming up fast.
Season 2 will cover the Haunted House Arc and Evil Eye Arc from the manga — two of the absolute fan-favorite storylines. If the trailer’s chaotic energy is any sign, Dandadan is about to deliver one of the wildest anime seasons of 2025.
