The Dark Magicians Accessories for YU-GI-OH! are Pretty Good on a Budget

Konami recently launched a new line of accessories for Yu-Gi-Oh! featuring artwork for the powerful Spellcaster Fusion Monster, The Dark Magicians. The artwork is pretty awesome as it features two of the most popular Spellcasters in all of Yu-Gi-Oh! and these are fantastic for any fan. Konami was kind enough to send me the new duelist portfolio, deck box, and pack of 50 card sleeves with the artwork and I dig them.

The portfolio (MSRP $9.99) is my absolute favorite of the accessories. It holds 180 cards (a little more as you can put 2-3 copies of a card in each slot if you need to) and I love that it’s side-loading instead of top-loading. The spots are tight as well, so you don’t have to worry about your cards falling out. The card case (MSRP $4.99) is ok. The divider is handy, but the actual lid mechanism does get stuck from time to time. It’s not my favorite deck box out there, but for the price, it’s pretty good. Finally, the sleeves (MSRP $3.99). The sleeves are cool and they’re better than many of the cheap sleeves out there. They’re not the best sleeves, but they’re far from the worst. My biggest complaint is how awkward 50 sleeves are in Yu-Gi-Oh! I feel like 40, 55, or 60 are the magic numbers for the game. 50 gives you 10 more than most people use in their Main Deck, 5 less than the Main Deck and Side Deck, and 10 less for serving as sleeves for 4 Extra Decks. It’s just awkward.

If you love The Dark Magicians, these accessories are fantastic. Especially for those on a budget. You can find these through your local game store or even through online outlets like TCGplayer.com.
