The Demogorgon is Making Its Way to DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Again
The first season of Stranger Things featured a villain that was referred to as the Demogorgon, a creature from Dungeons & Dragons. I love D&D and have not had the chance to encounter a Demogorgon yet, but that could change soon. Lead rules designer Jeremy Crawford recently talked to D&D Beyond in a video about some of the demonic foes coming in the upcoming Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes supplement book. While he doesn’t name the Demogorgon, he does talk about the demon princes making a return and the Demogorgon was one of those princes. He is a very powerful creature, “a two-headed demon with mandrill-like heads and tentacles for arms.” ComicBook also points out that not only is the Demogorgon a demon prince, but it has the title, Prince of Demons putting it above the others.
It is important to note that technically, the Demogorgon has appeared in the current 5th Edition ruleset in the Out of the Abyss adventure along with the other demon princes. The Tome of Foes, however, will extend the reach to more players who didn’t want to buy a pre-made adventure. Many more demons and devils will accompany the Demogorgon in the Tome of Foes and it’s going to be a blast. Heck, the mind flayer (main villain from season 2 of Stranger Things) has already been in the 5E Monster Manual, so now you can take your adventurers to face both of these popular monsters.
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes will release May 29, 2018, and you can pre-order it on Amazon now!
