The Director of VENOM Confirms Kevin Feige Was Not Involved with the Film and You Can Obviously Tell

My expectations for Venom were very low and the film ended up meeting those expectation. The movie ended up being exactly what I thought it would be a that is a disappointing and extremely mediocre film. This was a PG-13 version of Venom that was made for 13-year-olds. It’s the kind of film that young teens might enjoy as it was filled with silly juvenile humor. For me, it didn’t really feel like the Venom that I know from the comics.

I know there was all this talk by director Ruben Fleischer about how much they wanted this movie to stay true to the character from the comics, but after watching the film, I’m wondering if they even read the comics, or if they just read the Venom Wikipedia page.

The movie did have a few strange and humorous moments that were enjoyable, but for the most part the story and script for the film were weak. This movie could’ve and should’ve been so much better. You’d think the studio would have learned a thing or two by working with Marvel Studios on Spider-Man, but apparently they didn’t.

In case you were wondering if Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had any kind of involvement in the development of the film, the director of Venom confirmed that he did not. He told Metro:

“No. Not in any way. I hope that at some point they will be able to crossover. But for us the entire process was self-contained.”

Yeah, you can totally tell that Feige was not involved with Venom at all. Had he been involved, it may have included Spider-Man and it would have ended up being a great movie!

As for the hope of a crossover one day, I just don’t see why Marvel Studios would want to involve themselves with such a mediocre film production. If they ever work with Venom or any of the other characters, they’d have to reboot it and do it their way. Not the way that Sony Pictures is handling it. They obviously still don’t know what they’re doing.

The best part of the film for me was the second post-credits scene, which had absolutely nothing to do with the movie Venom!

Have you seen Venom yet? If so what did you think?
