The Directors of INFINITY WAR Seem Excited About Playing With The X-MEN and FANTASTIC FOUR

While Disney and Fox are still ironing out the details of their deal, Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo seem to be looking forward to the day where they will finally get to play with Marvel's X-Men and Fantastic Four characters.

At this point, Kevin Feige has said they haven't even started to think about introducing these characters into the MCU yet, but when they are, the creative team is excited and ready to get their hands on them! While talking to Playback, Joe said:

"We’ve had the best experience of our careers with Marvel. We have a great working relationship with them and we love telling these stories. It’d really be a function of, what is the story if we do stick around. Certainly, it’s enticing when you have all these Fox characters about to show up. It’s an incredibly complex universe to keep building out."

The conversation then went into the topic of the comic book story arc Secret Wars and Joe revealed that he's a huge fan of it.

"That was a big comic for me as a kid. I had all of it. I think that was probably the most important book to me."

It was then brought up that Secret Wars would be the perfect storyline to introduce the X-Men and Fantastic Four in the MCU, and Joe replied with, "That's right. I like the way you think."

Whether or not that is actually how things will go down remains to be seen but it would make sense if that's the direction Marvel Studios went. Just in case you're not familiar with the story, here's a little set up to the story:

A cosmic entity called the Beyonder observes the mainstream Marvel universe. Fascinated by the presence of superheroes on Earth and their potential, this entity chooses a group of both heroes and supervillains and teleports characters against their will to "Battleworld," a planet created by the Beyonder in a distant galaxy. This world has also been stocked with alien weapons and technology. The Beyonder then declares: "I am from beyond! Slay your enemies and all that you desire shall be yours! Nothing you dream of is impossible for me to accomplish!"

When Disney finally does end up closing this deal with Fox, how would you like to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters introduced into the MCU?
