The Disney+ HOME ALONE Reboot Casts Kenan Thompson, Chris Parnell, and Ally Maki
Disney has added Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live), Chris Parnell (SNL, Hot Rod), and Ally Maki (Toy Story 4) to the case of the Home Alone reboot being developed for Disney+.
The upcoming Home Alone movie will follow “a husband and wife who go to war with a young boy, Max, who has stolen from them. Max is an energetic, witty nine-year-old boy with a mischievous side. He feels wise beyond his years and has the personality to easily converse with adults—plus the uncanny ability to relentlessly push their buttons. But, he also displays a sense of innocence and a kind heart, much like the original protagonist.”
The new cast members join the previously cast Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit) who will play Max. Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2) and Ellie Kemper (The Office) are set to play husband and wife Pam and Hunter. Maki will play a character named Mei, Thompson will take on the role of Gavin, and Parnell will play Uncle Stu.
The movie will also feature Aisling Bea (This Way Up), Pete Holmes (Don’t Think Twice), Timothy Simons (Veep), and Mikey Day (Saturday Night Live). Macaulay Culkin is also rumored to to make an appearance but that has not been confirmed.
Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa) is set to direct the reboot from a script written by Saturday Night Live veterans Mikey Day and Streeter Seidel.
The only reason I have any interest in this movie is because of Archie Yates. I loved that kid in Jojo Rabbit and I think he’s going to give an extremely entertaining performance in the movie.
