The Disney Princesses Get New Outfits in Photo From RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET
Disney has released a new image from Ralph Breaks The Internet and it features Vanellope hanging out with the Disney princesses and as you can see the princesses are all sporting new more comfortable outfits. In fact, it's Vanellope who brings the new clothes into the princesses lives and she looks very pleased with herself.
When talking about her character, Sarah Silverman told EW:
"I’m very proud of my character being a Disney princess with a human waist. I love that she is a princess but wears, like, a hoodie, and she inspires them all to wear comfortable clothes. It didn’t really cross my mind that I’m a Disney princess — like, that I’m canon— until we all met this year, and I got a little choked up. It’s corny, I know, but I was like, ‘Oh s—t, right. I’m this Jewish, comfortable-clothes-wearing Disney princess. How cool is that?"
Co-director Rich Moore goes on to talk about working with the Disney princesses in the film saying:
"To be able to work with these characters in a way that’s funny and human… they’re so iconic, but to me, they felt like they were frozen in another time that made it hard for me to kind of identify with or understand them. That’s just me personally, [but] I think what’s fun about that scene is that this is really adding a facet to them that makes them feel like real people."
Co-director Phil Johnston went on to talk about some of the things he wanted to explore with the princesses in the movie:
"It’s what Wreck-It Ralph was about: What happens when the arcade is closed and how do these characters behave when no one’s looking? And it’s very similar to what happens when you’re backstage in the princesses’ dressing room. What do they do? What do they look like? What do they talk about?"
You get a little tease of that in the trailer that was released. I actually saw the full clip with the Disney princesses at D23 and it was pretty damn hilarious. Disney fans are gonna love this movie!
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a website entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
The original voice actresses for the Disney princesses all return, and they include Ming Na Wen (Mulan), Idina Menzel (Elsa Frozen), Kristen Bell (Anna Frozen) Jodi Benson (Ariel The Little Mermaid), Paige O’Hara (Belle Beauty and the Beast), Linda Larkin (Jasmine Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana The Princess and the Frog), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel Tangled), Kelly MacDonald (Merida Brave), and Auli'i Cravalho (Moana).
Ralph Breaks the Internet hits theaters on November 21.
