The Duffers Confirm That STRANGER THINGS Will Go Beyond the Fourth Season
We have heard for a while now that Matt and Ross Duffer, a.k.a. the Duffer Bros., have a complete storyline that will play out in their hit phenomenon series, Stranger Things. The creators, writers, and directors have confirmed that the show has a clear ending, and will not go on and on just because fans love it so much. But the pair has not come out and said exactly how many seasons it will take to wrap up the story.
So after the fourth season got majorly derailed by the pandemic, THR spoke to the creators, and asked if this would be the season to tie up all the loose ends and end the story of Eleven and her friends. Ross Duffer responded, saying:
“Season four won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”
This is great news. Many Netflix originals don’t last past season three or four, but the streamer would be fools to cut short the most successful original series they’ve ever had. It’s awesome that they have given the controls over to the capable Duffers, and we will see the show in its entirety.
While we can no longer expect to see the series in 2020, we are hoping to see the continuation of the story in 2021. Are you looking forward to at least a couple more seasons of Stranger Things?
