The DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Movie Is Moving Forward and There's a List of A-List Talent Wanted For The Lead Role

Paramount Pictures has slowly been developing their live-action adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons, and today we have an update for you.

According to That Hashtag Show, Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) is no longer attached to direct the film, but screenwriter  Michael Gillio has turned in an updated draft of the script that the studio loves. The report says that “the script that had studio execs absolutely buzzing. The studio gave Gillio some notes to take back to his workshop but if all goes well, Paramount will get back to work on finding a director for the project.”

It’s also explained that the script features a lead role that they want to fill with a major A-list star. They already have a list of actors that they want to approach when they are ready to start casting. That list of actors includes Will Smith, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Foxx, Joel Edgerton, Dave Bautista, Jeremy Renner, and Johnny Depp

There’s no information on who this main character is, so it’s hard to tell which actor would be right for the role. This is definitely an interesting list of actors with all kinds of different ranges. However, I have to say that I don’t want to see Johnny Depp in a D&D movie. But they certainly want to cast someone with major star and box office power.

The studio has a release date set for November 19, 2021. If they want to hit that date, they need to get this film into production soon!

While we wait for more updates, let’s talk about who would you like to see direct the movie and star in it?
