The Elvis Presley Estate Slams Sofia Coppola's PRISCILLA Movie, But Priscilla Presley Praised It

The Elvis Presley Estate is not happy with Sofia Coppola’s upcoming film Priscilla. The trailer for the movie was released last week, and according to a recent report from TMZ, “multiple officials” connected to Presley’s estate hated it.

One estate official who has seen the film in its entirety said it was “horrible,” and that “it feels like a college movie. The set designs are just horrific, it’s not what Graceland looks like.”

Apparently, Priscilla was produced without the Estate's knowledge or consent ... and “they're ripping it as another Priscilla money grab.”

Now, while the Presley estate isn’t happy about the movie, Priscilla Presley herself praised the film in a recent Instagram post, saying: “I am excited about the interpretation of my book by the masterful Sofia Coppola. She has such an extraordinary perspective and I have always been such an admirer of her work. I’m certain this movie will take everyone on an emotional journey.”

If Priscilla is happy about it, what else matters? It’s based on her book and her story.

In the film, “Decades after his death, millions of fans continue to worship Elvis the legend. But very few knew him as Elvis the man. Here in her own words, Priscilla Presley tells the story of their love, revealing the details of their first meeting, their marriage, their affairs, their divorce, and the unbreakable bond that has remained long after his tragic death.”

Priscilla stars Cailee Spaeny (On the Basis of Sex, Vice) as the title character, with Elvis being portrayed by Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, The Kissing Booth). The cast also includes Raine Monroe Boland as Lisa Marie Presley, Emily Mitchell as Lisa Marie Presley, Jorja Cadence as Patsy Presley, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll as Alan “Hog Ears” Fortas, Luke Humphrey as Terry West, and Dagmara Domińczyk.
