THE EXORCIST Remake Pilot Ordered by Fox

TV The Exorcist by Joey Paur

The terrifying 1971 book The Exorcist, which was adapted into a classic film in 1973, is getting remade as a TV series. Fox recently ordered the pilot, which will give us a modern reinvention of this horror story.

The hour-long series is described as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession, and confronting the face of true evil.”

Jeremy Slater will write the pilot. That’s probably not a good thing, as he is the same guy who wrote the script for Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four. I know that doesn’t spark much confidence in me, but I am a fan of The Exorcist book and film, so I’m curious to see how this turns out.
