THE EXPANSE Season 6 Gets a Teaser Trailer and a Premiere Date

The Expanse is returning to Amazon Prime Video for its sixth and final season, and the first teaser trailer is here to get you excited for it! The next season will continue the story of Marco Inaros’ attack on Earth and Mars, and the teaser shows that this war is taking a toll on the crew of the Rocinante.

It was also announced that the next season of the sci-fi series will premiere on January 14th, 2022.

The Expanse is based on the novel series, and it’s set in the future “where humanity has colonized the solar system and the people of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt have long been in opposition with one another. When the crew of the Rocinante uncovers an ancient alien technology, a vast conspiracy begins to emerge — one that will bring the solar system to the brink of war. The Expanse is a high-action, sci-fi adventure that explores the depth of humanity against the far-spanning reaches of the known universe.”

The synopsis for Season 6 reads:

“The sixth and final season of The Expanse picks up with the solar system at war, as Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continue to launch devastating asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars,” reads the synopsis. “As the tensions of war and shared loss threaten to pull the crew of the Rocinante apart, Chrisjen Avasarala makes a bold move and sends former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper on a secret mission that could turn the tide of the conflict. Meanwhile, in the Belt, Drummer and what’s left of her family are on the run after betraying Marco. And on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power begins to rise.”

The series stars Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Dominique Tipper, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee, Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams, Keon Alexander, Nadine Nicole, and Jasai Chase Owens.

The Expanse is based comes from Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who write under the pen name James S. A. Corey. The series is co-created and written by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men).
