THE EXPENDABLES 4 is Still Happening and It's Coming in 2018
In case you were wondering if Sylvester Stallone still planned on making The Expendables 4, the answer is yes. The news comes from THR, who reports that Splendid Film picked up the distribution rights to the film for Germany.
The Expendables 4 will be the final chapter in the franchise, and it is now targeting a 2018 release date. I think the Expendables movies have been a lot of fun to watch. Yeah, they have terrible stories and scripts, but it's fun seeing all those big action stars get together to blow shit up and beat the hell out of bad guys.
The last film that was released was rated PG-13, which Stallone himself said was a mistake. So, this next time around they will go back to the R-rating. He previously said:
"Absolutely unequivocally yes. I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again."
He then went on to tease what the story for the next film might entail:
"I have actually entertained the idea of putting the group into such an unnatural environment that it, in an of itself, creates extra suspense and tension: the 'fish out of water' scenario. That environment might not be time travel, but nearly just as jarring."
None of the actors have been officially confirmed for the fourth movie yet, but I'm sure Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture will all return.
