The Fantasy Novel THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE Is Getting a Feature Film Adaptation

Augustine Frizzell (Never Goin’ Back, The Last Letter From Your Lover) is set to direct a feature film adaptation of V.E. Schwab’s fantasy novel The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. She will direct the film from a script being written by her husband David Lowery, who has written and directed films such as The Green Knight and Pete’s Dragon. Schwab will produce the film.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue follows a young woman who, a moment of desperation” makes a Faustian bargain to live forever. But that comes with a price as she is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.

The story is described as “a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.” Everything changes for the woman after nearly 300 years when “Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.”

This sounds like a fascinating story that will make for great film! I’m not really familiar with Frizzell’s work, but with Lowery writing the script at least we know that’s gonna be solid!
