The Fight Choreographer for REVENGE OF THE SITH Explains the High Ground Line

In a recent interview with IGN, Nick Gillard explains where Obi-Wan’s line about the high ground came from. Gillard was the fight choreographer for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and apparently, he and Hayden Christensen lived next to each other while they were filming in Australia and they’d go eat at a restaurant together every night.

We would eat in this restaurant every night that was up a hill. You could walk up the road and down to this restaurant, or you could walk across a steep bank to it. For me, I always want the most direct route so I’m going for the bank, and [Hayden] hates walking on a slope, so that was in my mind about the higher ground. If I can get [Anakin] on the slope, Obi might have a chance.

It’s a bit of a silly story, but now we know the origins of a meme.
