The Final Season of LUCIFER Gets a 6 Episode Extension
When it was announced that Lucifer Season 5 would be the final season of the series on Netflix, the fans didn’t want it to end. They wanted more and lobbied for more seasons. Well, it may not be getting more seasons, but fans will be getting more Lucifer.
Season 5 will still be the last season of the show, but TV Line is reporting that the final season has been given a 6 episode extension bringing the total season run from 10 to 16! I’m sure that’ll put a smile on fans faces!
The great thing about this is that the creators of the series will get to close out the series the way they want, on their terms. When addressing the fans about the final season, co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson said:
“[W]hile we feel just as sad as many of you do that this marvelous ride is coming to an end, a fight won’t change things right now. But we spoke to our partners at Netflix and Warner Bros, and you should all know TREMENDOUS care and consideration was put into making this decision.”
Fans shouldn’t complain. After all, the show found new life after it was cancelled by Fox! At least we got two more seasons that we almost never had.
While talking to TV Line, The showrunners said that they have known Season 5’s opening sequence “literally since we started Season 4,” and added, “We also have one other, really fun toy to play with, that we know is going to be a big guiding factor in Season 5, so we’re excited about that, too.”
It’ll be interesting to see how this series ends up coming to a close! Are you happy to hear the final season is getting 6 additional episodes?
