The First Reactions of MORBIUS Are In and It's Not Looking Good
The first reactions of Sony’s upcoming Marvel film Morbius have dropped on social media, and it looks like the studio once again dropped the ball. I was actually looking forward to watching this movie and I hoped that it would be good because I’m a huge fan of this character! The marketing sure did cut together an interesting trailer, but as you all know, trailers can be deceiving.
For the most part, critics and fans are confused by the movie that Sony put out, and it’s apparently a sloppily made movie. This is a bloody shame. There’s really no reason why this movie shouldn’t have been an awesome film!
You’d think that they would learn a thing or two from working with Marvel on the Spider-Man films, but I guess not! Maybe they just have too many cooks in the kitchen. When it comes to Marvel, Kevin Feige runs it all, he is the be all end all of what happens in his films. While Sony has several different executives throwing their ideas into the movie.
Whatever Sony is doing, it’s not working, and heaven forbid they stop working with Marvel on the Spider-Man films. Anyway, check out the first initial reactions for Morbius below and let us know what you think!
The film stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius as "a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and attempted to cure himself to disastrous results. Instead of being cured, he became afflicted with a condition that was a form of vampirism — the thirst for blood, along with fangs and super strength — and fought Spider-Man. Over time, however, he became a slightly heroic figure in his own right and even headlined his own comic book titles.”
Leto is joined by Jared Harris (Mad Men, The Crown, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, The Terror) in the film along with Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim Uprising) as Martine Bancroft, who was engaged to Morbius before he accidentally turned himself into a vampire. She ends up becoming a potential victim as Morbius learns to cope with his insatiable bloodlust. Matt Smith is also in the film and plays Loxias Crown. Oh yeah! Michael Keaton is back as Vulture!
Morbius was directed by Daniel Espinosa, and it will be released in theaters April 1, 2022.
