The First Trailer for GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Is Here!

Call it fate, call it luck, call it karma. I believe everything happens for a reason…

The first trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife has finally arrived, and Egon Spangler’s family moves to a small town where they learn about their grandfather’s legacy and that he used to catch ghosts for a living! I loved this first trailer for the film, and the concept of a couple of kids slowly discovering something incredible about their grandpa. It looks like a lot of the ghosts that he, Venkman, Spengler, and Winston caught in their heyday ended up being stored in this farmland that his family inherited.

This next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe centers on “a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.”

The film may not be the Ghostbusters sequel that fans have imagined we might get, but the true spirit of Ghostbusters fills the trailer and I love what I’m seeing! It also does a great job of tapping into our nostalgia. I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan! It’s one of my favorite films of all time, and this looks like it’s going to be a great sequel!

The film was directed by Jason Reitman from a script he wrote with Gil Kenan. The movie stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver are also said to be returning.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife arrives in theaters on July 10, 2020.
