The First Trailer For THE MANDALORIAN Season 2 is Reportedly Coming This Month
It looks like we might be getting our first trailer for Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian Season 2 later this month! LRM Online is reporting that a trailer for the live-action Star Wars series will drop during the first round of the NBA playoffs either on August 21st or August 22nd.
Star Wars Celebration was supposed to take place that very weekend before it was cancelled. That’s where the first trailer for the series would have originally premiered, but since that event’s not happening anymore it makes sense that Disney would debut the trailer during a sporting event. They seem to have a habit of doing that anyway.
On top of that, the DC fan event DC FanDome is also happening that weekend and it wouldn’t surprise me that Disney would want to release The Mandalorian trailer to overshadow that event in some way.
While the release of this trailer later this month hasn’t been confirmed, it wouldn’t surprise me if it did make its big debut. I hope it does! I can’t wait to see what this next season has in store for us!
The second season of The Mandalorian is currently in post-production, and Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are also in the process of developing Season 3. There’s a lot of cool stuff to look forward to seeing in the upcoming seasons. Season 2 is going to introduce a lot of great characters from The Clone Wars and Rebels series.
Pedro Pascal stars in the series as a Mandalorian bounty hunter who becomes the guardian of a mysterious creature known only as The Child. Season 2 will continue their journey while they are being hunted down by Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).
They will be joined by new cast members that include Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and maybe Captain Rex, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, and Michael Biehn in a yet to be revealed role. It’ll be interesting to see what other characters might be introduced in the series!
The Mandalorian Season 2 will feature episodes directed by Jon Favreau, Carl Weathers, Dave Filoni, Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
