THE FLASH Just Couldn't Help But Make a HARRY POTTER Reference in Last Night's Episode
From the time it was announced that Tom Felton would be joining the cast of The Flash it seemed inevitable. The writers showed restraint up until last night, when the show made a not so vague Harry Potter reference in regards to Felton's character Julian...
So a couple weeks ago we learned that Julian was The Alchemist and got his power from a mysterious stone. This week we learned that Julian was involved in an expedition to obtain this very stone...and what was it called?! The Philosopher's Stone...
For those that don't immediately get it, The Philosopher's Stone is the UK name for what we know as The Sorcerer's Stone in the Harry Potter franchise. Now, the Philosopher's Stone myth has been around far longer than Harry Potter, but how convenient that the show's version of the stone happens to be in the possession of the ONE actor who was involved in the Harry Potter films?! C'MON!
On a side note, wasn't it great to find out that Julian was not actively aware that he was The Alchemist?! I really like his character, and while I know he probably won't be along much longer, I do hope the staff maybe makes an attempt at keeping Felton on as a series regular? I think it would be cool for him to eventually take the role of H.R., but then I love Tom Cavanaugh so I'm conflicted. Anyway, what did you think of last night's cheeky reference?
