The GAME OF THRONES Finale Script Reveals the Iron Throne Was Just a "Dumb Bystander" of Drogon's Fiery Wrath
Did any of you Game of Thrones fans think that there was some deep meaning behind Drogon melting the Iron Throne to the ground in the season finale of the series? Like the intelligent dragon noticed that Throne was everything that his mother was fighting for and it was the reason for her downfall?
Well, according to an excerpt from the script that has found its way online, that’s not the case at all. It’s explained in the script that the Iron Throne was just a “dumb bystander” of the dragon’s wrath as he wanted to “burn the world.”
HBO released the full script for the episode online for the fans to read, and it really doesn’t help anything or make things any better. A lot of fans are pointing out the lazy writing, which is funny because the finale is nominated for Emmy Award for writing! If you want to read the script for yourself, check it out here. Here’s the part where Drogon melts the Iron Throne:
Throughout the who series, fans wondered who would end up on the Iron Throne, and David Benioff and D.B. Weiss made it very clear that no one will sit on the throne. Kinda like a big F—- you to the fans.
I know some people were happy with the finale season, and if you are one of the people who enjoyed it, that’s great! It’s good to know a few people were satisfied with it. Unfortunately, I expected more from the creators after the incredible journey they took us on. They set a high standard and then didn’t keep that standard as they closed out the story.
Oh well, what’s done is done. Hopefully, Benioff and Weiss’s Star Wars films won’t end up the same way.
