The Grandmaster is Back in New U.S. Teaser Trailer for Donnie Yen's IP MAN 4
We’ve got a new U.S. teaser trailer to share with you for Ip Man 4, which continues the story of the legendary Grandmaster. Donnie Yen is back in the role of Ip Man and it sees him travel to the U.S. to make a better life for his son. The teaser trailer doesn’t give us much, but as a fan of the franchise, I’m looking forward to watching the movie!
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Ip Man’s life remains unchanged after his wife’s death, but he and his son are slowly drifting apart. To seek a better future for his son, Ip Man decides to travel to the U.S. only to find the stable, peaceful life abroad is only skin deep. Underneath lies a deep rooted racial discrimination that is far worse than he has expected. Ip Man re-examines his position and ponders on the reason he took up martial arts in the beginning."
While in the U.S., Ip Man reconnects with his student, Bruce Lee, who has begun teaching Wing Chun in his own school. Ip Man finds himself facing off with the military’s best fighters, including one played by Scott Adkins. That’s sure to end up being an awesome fight!
Ip Man 4 is being directed by Wilson Yip. It also stars Vanness Wu and it’s also said Jackie Chan has a role in the movie as well. He’s playing "a respected Big Brother in Chinatown" and Yen will fight Chan in the film, which is another fight that I’m sure fans will be excited to see!
Ip Man 4 will be released on December 25th.
