THE GREENLIGHTER Parodies Marvel's Lack of Female Superhero Movies

It's pretty clear that Marvel Studios needs to step it up when it comes to female representation on screen. Sure, there are some kick-ass female characters in their roster like Black Widow and Gamora, but it's 2015: there's really no excuse for there not to be a female-led superhero film in the MCU at this point. They're looking to remedy that with Captain Marvel in a few years, and Evangeline Lilly will eventually suit up as Wasp down the line, but it's been a bit of a tough road for Marvel-loving women out there to watch as female characters get pushed to the side or straight up ignored time and time again.

But now The Greenlighter is here to make a chance. Who is The Greenlighter? She's a female executive willing to greenlight a Marvel film with a female lead in this parody video from Above Average (via LaughingSquid). Not every joke lands, but the larger point is spot-on.
