The HELLBOY Reboot is Set to Be Released in January 2019

Update: According to Lionsgate there is no release date yet.

Yesterday fans were treated to a couple photos from director Neil Marshall's Hellboy reboot and they offered us our first look at David Harbour in the title role. He looks awesome and it seemed like the fans loved what they saw. Personally, I think he looks even better than Ron Perlman's version of the character. Now we just have to wait and see how Harbour's performance turns out.

The highly anticipated Hellboy film now has a release date, and that release date is January 11, 2019. We've still got a long way to go before we see any footage from the film as it just started shooting. The only other big film that Hellboy is going up against that month is M. Night Shyamalan’s Split and Unbreakable sequel Glass, which opens up a week later on January 18th.

and it also stars Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as the Nimue, Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida, a witch who has decided that the Blood Queen's wrath has gone on for too long, and Daniel Dae Kim will play Major Ben Daimio.

This new movie will be a much closer adaptation of Mike Mignola's comic series, which is why Mignola was looking to reboot the film franchise. Apparently, he didn't like the direction Guillermo del Toro was taking it. The film will have a dark and gruesome tone, Marshall's goal is also to implement practical effects as much as he can. Then there's the R-rating that was pre-approved so that Marshall would have the creative freedom to do what he wants with the story.
