Tate Taylor, director of The Help and The Girl on the Train, is reuniting with Amblin Partners to bring the true story Miss Macy to the big screen. Jean Smart (Fargo, Legion, Watchmen) will star in the title role, as well as executive produce alongside Taylor, who will direct as well.

The film will be based on the true story of a young Trisha Mitchell Coburn, and her life after she is plucked from her unhappy home and set on a path for success after she meets her eccentric mentor “Miss Macy,” who sees something special in her.

The script is being penned by Pulitzer Prize winner and Oscar nominee Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart, Nobody’s Fool).

This sounds like a solid story, and a great project for Taylor and Smart. Does it sound like a story that you might like?
