The Hilarious Podcast VOYAGE TO THE STARS is Making its Way to Comics Thanks to IDW

Voyage to the Stars is a hilarious sci-fi comedy podcast starring Steve Berg, Felicia Day, Colton Dunn, Kirsten Vangsness, and Janet Varney. It is a real fun podcast to listen to, especially since the dialogue is all improvised. Now, the wacky adventures are coming to the medium of comics thanks to IDW Publishing which is going to release a 4-issue miniseries from writer James Asmus and artist Connie Daidone. I am very excited for this.

In Voyage to the Stars, our intrepid crew has managed to survive Earth’s destruction, and now they’re determined (and ambiguously destined) to stop a growing, ancient evil from consuming the universe… although stopping it may be tricky, since our heroes can't help but destroy just about every planet and species they come across. To be honest, it’s debatable who might be the bigger threat!

Ryan Copple, creator of Voyage to the Stars, released the following statement:

It has been such a wild ride experiencing Voyage to the Stars’ evolution and development into other mediums, such as comic books. The world we built is meant to be experienced in many different ways, allowing fans everywhere to engage with these stories however they want. We can’t wait for people to check out the new stories within these comic books and continue to expand the Voyage to the Stars world in more ways they can enjoy.

Asmus also teased us a little of what to expect:

I've loved the fantastically rich, surprising, and genuinely funny universe that the Voyage podcast has been creating since it launched. Working with their creative team, we quickly found a chapter to tell that is simultaneously a meaningful time for our heroes (grieving the loss of Earth, and taking the first steps towards avenging it) and tells a self-contained quest across a pretty wild sampling of the Voyage universe!

Unfortunately, there’s no word on when to expect Voyage to the Stars #1, but we do know that it will be available with multiple cover variants from artists including Daidone and Freddie E. Williams II.
