The History of Disney Animation Celebrated in Trailer For The Short Film ONCE UPON A STUDIO

Disney has released a trailer for an upcoming special short film titled Once Upon a Studio, which celebrates the history of Disney Animation. It looks like it’ll be a fun little film!

The doc features an all-star ensemble of beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios who come together “for a joyful, entertaining and emotional reunion as they assemble for a spectacular group photo to mark Disney's 100th anniversary. Featuring 543 Disney characters from more than 85 feature-length and short films, Once Upon a Studio welcomes heroes & villains, princes & princesses, sidekicks and sorcerers—in all-new hand-drawn and CG animation—to celebrate 10 decades of storytelling, artistry and technological achievements.”

I miss the old days of Disney animation where the films they made were all great! The films being made these days carry the Disney brand but some of them lack the Disney magic, which is a shame. Those older classic are still some of the best animated films ever made.

This 10-minute short film is part of the Disney special event coming in October on ABC called "The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney's 100th Anniversary Celebration!" The description introduces it as: "Celebrate a century of stories with Once Upon A Studio, a new Original short film, premiering on ABC." When two new employees stay at the Walt Disney Animation Studios overnight, they will see all the Disney characters from the past and today come to life, and get all gather up for their very own picture taken for their 100th anniversary. This comedy short is specifically a celebration of Disney Animation's history, with references to many of their iconic characters. This trailer features Mickey & Minnie, Tinker Bell, Bolt, Winnie the Pooh, Ursula, Moana, and plenty more all coming together to have a party in the Disney Animation studio located on the lot in Burbank. Have fun.

Once Upon a Studio was directed by filmmakers Dan Abraham (Once Upon a Snowman and Baymax) and Trent Correy, an animator at Disney since Frozen, director of Once Upon a Snowman and the Zootopia+ series). The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney's 100th Anniversary Celebration premieres on October 15th, 2023.
